The ever evolving artist describes the release - which comprises lead track ‘Heather Park’ and b-side ‘The Nucienda’ - as “one of my favourite ever projects”. It's a highly personal and emotive release for Ewan, touching on nostalgic memories growing up in Kincaidston, Ayr. “Heather Park is the street I grew up in. I shared a room with my two brothers and we grew a family bond in this house like no other” he comments. “Writing Heather Park in my mind was the melody and pulling as much emotion from the pluck as I could. With the name being after our first family house, I wanted it to be reminiscent of all the great memories we had there and that's where the thick bass-line, strings and pads come in”.

The release comes off the back of an impressive couple of years for Ewan having been nominated in the Breakthrough DJ category at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards 2020 which then lead on to winning two awards in 2021 for his UK Gold Platinum-selling single, ‘Tell Me Something Good’ (DJ Mag’s Best of British ‘Track of the Year’ and BBC Radio 1’s ‘Dance Track of the Year’). Alongside an excellent Radio 1 Residency throughout June which saw Ewan celebrate the music that influenced and inspired him over the years, he’s received support from DJ Mag, Mixmag, The Scotsman and Glasgow Times, plus impressive radio plaudits from the likes of Greg James, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Jaguar and Sarah Story.

Ewan shows no signs of slowing down and is quickly becoming well known for his formidable DJ sets as he embarks on a packed summer with sets at multiple festivals including Creamfields, Secret Garden Party and more, having just played standout sets at Parklife and Glastonbury.

“Heather Park” is out today on Technicolour. In celebration of the release Ewan will be playing a special Mixmag LAB session tonight. Listen / Stream here - https://ewanmcvicar.lnk.to/heather
