21 year-old Conor Albert is a South-London based artist, songwriter and producer. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has already caught the attention of Questlove, Jacob Collier, Justin Bieber and Zane Lowe along the way. It's been a whirlwind 6 months for Conor: his ingenious beat videos have struck a chord with people in huge numbers, leading to a rapid increase in followers and interest in the young artist, and collaborations with acts including Disclosure, Tom Misch, Priya Ragu, Zak Abel, and Maya Delilah in the process.

‘Keep Your Faith’—released today via Ninja Tune (North America), and Young Poet (ROW)—is co-written with Carmody with backing vocals from Matilda Mann, and stands as the first Conor Albert track to be led by his own vocals. A soulful alt-pop cut uniting groove-laden guitars, shimmering synths and a shuffling jazzy percussive backing, the track finds Conor reminiscing about a previous relationship that went awry: 'Is there some hurt that I could undo? / Or a line I could have sung? / To make you feel like you belong?'

Of the new single, Conor said: "The song is about the latter stages of my last relationship. My ex felt that I basically didn't love her anymore and this is a song I wrote to try and express the ways that I still did and how we should hold on to the relationship. We did end up splitting in the end which makes the song bittersweet but I'm glad I have that moment of my life crystallised to look back on. This is the most personal, exposing song I have ever released."

Taken from his next project “Collage 2”—a continuation of the work that began with debut EP “Collage 1”—the track presents a confident and hugely exciting step up. Speaking on what fans should expect this year, Conor added: "The next 6 months are gonna be filled with loads of new music with a greater focus on collaboration, even more than on “Collage 1”. I'm enlisting the help of all the new friends I've made over the last year to make the best possible project I can. I'm super excited."

Described by Conor as, "a spiritual successor to an older tune of mine called 'Tell Me'", ‘Keep Your Faith’ showcases him not only as a hugely accomplished producer and musician but as a gifted singer, too. Commenting on how the song came together, Conor went on to say: "I wrote the initial chorus idea late last year and that was how it was left for quite a while until I got Carmody to help me out with the verses. With anyone else I think I would have been quite shy to work on such a personal song, but I've known Carmody for years, so it was a very comfortable experience. Sometimes I have this ego driven idea where I'm like "I should write, produce, play, arrange everything on this song just to test myself", but with this project I've found it so beneficial to enlist help from some of my friends. Aside from it just making the whole process quicker, it also gives the songs a new perspective that I never would have seen on my own. Carmody has such a way with lyrics and so working with her was so easy, we wrote the rest of the song in a few hours together."

The new single follows Conor's momentous sold-out headline show at London's Jazz Cafe in June, previous single ‘Moonlight’ (ft. Mac Ayers) which The Line Of Best Fit described as "an unmissable track for summer 2021".

Conor Albert's new project “Collage 2” will slowly unfold as the year progresses, with more collaborations to be announced soon. New single ‘Keep Your Faith’ is out now via Ninja Tune / Young Poet.
